Sencha Meijin Kentarou (Sencha tea 120g). In a paulownia box.

JPY5,000

The tea itself is the result of the careful selection of soil, fertilizer, and water, right up to the characteristic deep steam process. As it is a tea which is both gifted, and dedicated to, Ise Grand Shrine, it is a prize product.

Established in 1887. It is a well-established tea store that, as well as being dedicated to Ise Grand Shrine, has been blessed with the honor of being the tea purveyor to Ise Grand Shrine as a government contractor. It is a well-known tea brand named after tea ceremony specialist Meijin (Master) Kentarou who was conferred with the Order of the Sacred Treasure (4th class, Gold Rays with Rosette) and the Japanese government’s Medal of Honor (yellow ribbon). It has been made by carefully selected first pick tea leaves, and as such it has been named after Meijin and we have an exclusive contract with a tea plantation. The tea itself is the result of the careful selection of soil, fertilizer, and water, right up to the characteristic and thorough deep steam process which follows harvesting, every aspect of the tea is consistently carefully selected up until it has been made ready for use. With just cold water you can enjoy the refreshing sweetness of this tea, and with hot water a rich umami and mellow aroma really come out. This is a real gem of a product and you will love trying it.

Gourmet's Comments

It is absolutely a top class product. You can drink it with hot water and with cold water, either way is delicious, and this just adds to how interesting this tea is. I was really surprised that the tea was so delicious in cold water. (Trading Company - Secretary - 3 years, 5 months)

I think that when this is given to someone, and they hear about the background story behind this tea, that they will be really pleased. As many people love to drink a nice rich tasting tea, which lacks bitterness and has strong umami, we serve this tea to waiting customers. (Information Communication/IT - Secretary - 9 years)

It conveys the image of being a light but top class tea, and as it is easy to carry I think it is perfect to give to customers visiting from overseas who are travelling light. (Wholesale, Retailer - Secretary - 8 years)
